Work/Life Survey 2007

Ref. NE-00698

The Robert Half Finance & Accounting & PASS Work/Life Survey 2007-2008 was conducted during September 2007 and reveals the most topical issues affecting part-qualified accountants.

The survey of over 500 part-qualifieds across the UK and Ireland not only examines salary and benefits trends, but also takes a closer look at workplace issues affecting trainees such as company loyalty, stress, working abroad and their career ambitions.

The report indicates that today's trainees are very focused on their careers and will actively seek training opportunities to achieve career success.

Key findings:

  • The gender pay divide between male and female trainees is still prevalent with male trainees earning on average over £3,000 more than their female counterparts.
  • Though their organisations are paying for their training, part-qualifieds do not feel obliged to remain loyal to their existing companies.
  • Trainees also recognise the value of having international work experience as exploring their options overseas is high on the agenda for many.
