Tony Byrne is a Managing Director at Robert Half Executive Search which specialises in the retained search and placement of executive-level financial officers (CFOs/FD’s); information technology, sales and marketing, legal and human resources professionals; as well as COOs and CEOs, in growth-oriented, small- to medium-sized businesses, with annual revenues typically between £10m to £2b.

Based out of Birmingham, Tony has a wealth of search experience spanning nearly three decades.

Experience

Starting his career working in financial roles Tony then moved to Robert Half starting in the Birmingham office in 1989. Tony has built up a strong reputation within C-suite executive and leadership search, seeing clients repeatedly turn to him as their preferred executive search and placement consultant.

Tony has advised and worked in retained search partnerships with clients in a variety of sectors including manufacturing, engineering, automotive, FMCG, retail, distribution, transport, property, construction.

He has applied his search experience across a diverse varied range of ownership/management structures including privately-owned family businesses, SME’s, Plc.’s, UK subsidiaries of international groups, private-equity, as well as not-for-profit and professional bodies.

Recently, a CEO client using Tony for the first time to recruit a Chief Financial Officer offered the following feedback: ‘Tony is an astute executive search consultant who brings commercial acumen and a “trusted advisor” type operating style/persona to the search project. He listens, gives wise counsel, and is prompt, efficient and clear.’

Tony has regularly been recognised for delivering excellent results both within the UK and internationally. He has successfully completed several hundred search assignments.

His expertise on career advice and hiring techniques has seen him called on as an expert guest speaker for several professional bodies.

Tony has a BSc (Honours) Finance & Accountancy degree from the University of East Anglia, UK.

Outside of work, Tony enjoys hill-walking, running and skiing.

Kris joined Robert Half in the Edinburgh office in 2004 as a consultant specialising in helping clients and candidates recruit and make permanent career moves. His determination and drive saw him promoted through the ranks and by 2010, Kris was responsible for the Robert Half operations across Scotland. Even while responsible for the development of business strategy, people leadership and staff development, Kris remained hands on and available to support his long-term clients.

Kris has developed a strong network of clients and candidates within Scotland, Manchester and Leeds – and he puts his success down to his ability to develop long-term relationships based on a common understanding and shared goal. Where his clients are on the verge of expansion, acquisition or diversification, Kris prides himself in his ability to capture the essence of the talent required to support the business on its journey. His dedication to providing excellent customer service and communication with a strong foundation of the local recruitment landscape means he can match the right executive candidate to the client’s needs.

Kris has regularly been recognised for his excellence in the recruitment industry. Originally from Belfast, Kris is an avid football and rugby fan supporting Liverpool FC, Ulster and Ireland -- a passion he shares with his two young boys.

Experience

Having joined Robert Half in 2013 as the Associate Director for Robert Half Technology, Charlie was responsible for managing our offices across the London, Birmingham and Bristol locations and was one of the founding members of the Robert Half Technology business within the UK.

Prior to this, Charlie gained a wealth of experience in C-suite recruitment and executive search having established and managed a privately-owned executive search firm for eight years, working with businesses across professional services, retail and distribution, banking and financial services, health, education, and not-for-profit sectors. Combining this with his impeccable track record of placing highly-skilled technology and digital professionals, Charlie specialises in the placement of Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), Managing Directors, Chief Operating Officers, Chief Information Officer, Chief Technology Officers, HR Directors and Commercial Directors.

Charlie has excelled in developing strong relationships with executive boards to advise on their recruitment needs backed up with solutions to ultimately find a successful candidate for the position. It is this expertise in the hiring market that sees Charlie regularly called on to provide comment to the media and industry publications.

Professional and Personal Achievements

Charlie enjoys rising to a challenge, a trait that he carries with him outside of work. Being an avid outdoor challenger, Charlie has completed the infamous Oxfam Trailtrekker in Yorkshire walking 100kms in 25 hours, and placed third in the 2015 Race the Sun event. When he isn’t competing he enjoys playing cricket, real tennis, running, and walking Hadrian’s Wall.

Charlie holds a BA in Business Studies from Birmingham City University.

Having worked within three industry leading recruitment consultancy firms during this career, he has built up a wealth of knowledge in the senior search space, working with a multitude of clients to find solutions to their needs.

Beginning his career with Robert Half in 2004, Rob has worked his way up in the industry from consultant-level and quickly made a name for himself.  Rob managed the senior permanent finance recruitment team and through his success and strong reputation he was promoted to Head of Executive Services the following year. Through his leadership and ability to act as a true business partner to his clients, he has been able to support small- to medium-enterprises who are growth-oriented, and looking to invest in their senior and executive talent.

Rob demonstrates a service delivery model, attention to detail and understanding of the recruitment market that is second to none. His approach and style of working is to focus on long-term relationships and the accomplishment of shared goals.
