Robert Half are working exclusively with leading stone and tile company Sarsen Stone Group whose brands include Artisans of Devizes www.artisansofdevizes.com and CaPietra www.capietra.com to recruit a Financial Controller for their Head Office location in Devizes. Founded in 1990, SSG is a family run business with strong core values, seeking someone who can add value and share their passion for the business.

The company

Artisans of Devizes one of the world's leading stone flooring and boutique tile companies and its market focus is with high end residential markets either direct to consumer or working with interior designers and architects.

CaPietra sells a core of the same products as its sister brand but via retailers such as tile shops and kitchen companies.

Even as the business has grown, a down-to-earth culture of loyalty, integrity and collaboration remains firmly ingrained in all of the people. Just as importantly, they've built up a level of expertise and authority that enables them to provide valuable technical advice whether you are a home owner, professional designer or retailer.

Their carefully curated collections contain hundreds of natural stone products that imported from all over the world and stocked their Devizes warehouse are selected to create spaces and places that are distinctive and original; that reflect character, personal style and aspirations.

The role

This is a varied role that includes monthly management accounts and associated finance duties as well as business partnering with the Board of Directors and General Manager. You will be responsible for the supervision of a bookkeeper as well as being a Manager within the business. This is a very hands on role suiting someone looking to add value and drive the business forward. Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Payroll and HR duties.
  • Monthly management accounts.
  • Reporting.
  • VAT returns.
  • Budgeting and forecasting.
  • Business partnering with the board of directors.
  • Liaising with auditors.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who shares the passion for the business and has an invested interest in the product and business growth and profitability. To be considered you must meet the following criteria:

  • Previous background in the Retail or Construction industries and ideally experienced with FX and importing.
  • Be qualified by experience or hold a recognised finance qualification including ACCA/CIMA.
  • Previous business partnering experience.
  • You must be willing to be part of the Senior Management team.

Salary and benefits

  • £45,000-£55,000 depending on experience.
