The Role

Robert Half have an excellent opportunity for a qualified Accountant looking to make their first move into industry or to take a challenging new role within a recently acquired PLC needing to bolster their statutory and reporting division. Working underneath some fantastic people this is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic accountant to be involved in establishing the financial reporting for a newly listed group. You will need strong communication and analogical skills as well as a real commercial mind-set

The role will form part of a newly created group Finance function for a newly listed business based in Birmingham. This role will be part of the team that is required to produce consolidated IFRS financial statement. Reporting to the Head of Group Consolidation, this role will be integral to establishing the consolidation process for the new business and production of the financial information for the new Group's reporting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly Group reporting pack and associated deliverable
  • Preparation of the Group's consolidated results, including review of BU inputs, eliminations and consolidation adjustments
  • Prepare reports for the Audit Committee on critical accounting estimates and technical accounting matters
  • Organise the month-end sign off meetings, providing accurate and insightful information which gives senior managers the confidence to approve the monthly results
  • Prepare interim and full year statutory reporting submissions.
  • Prepare the monthly finance management pack for the Executive Committee, Board and Senior Finance Management
  • Oversee the consolidation of the Bank's subsidiary undertakings
  • Contribute to the on-going development of management reporting to ensure that it is fit for purpose and provides valuable insight to stakeholders
  • Plan and assist in the preparation of the Bank's annual IFRS financial statements
  • Maintain robust processes and controls in relation to financial reporting, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Represent the Financial Reporting team on business projects and change initiatives

Your profile

  • Fully qualified accountant, 2 years PQE
  • Financial reporting experience and knowledge of IFRS
  • Highly numerate, with excellent analytic and problem solving skills
  • Previous exposure to Oracle Financials, Oracle General Ledger, Financial Statement Generator (FSG) and Discoverer (beneficial)
  • Strong relationship management skills

Salary & Benefits

£45,000 - £55,000 D.O.E.
