ACCOUNTS PAYABLE ASSISTANT

North Bristol

£19,000 - £22,000 per annum + study support

Robert Half are working with a market-leading private sector business on the outskirts Bristol/Bath who are seeking a hard-working and skilled Accounts Payable Assistant to join their sizeable team. Their offices are modern, bright and open plan and their office environment is built around a collaborative workplace culture.

The role:

The Accounts Payable Assistant will report directly in to the Accounts Payable Manager and will provide assistance to the accounts payable function and ensure suppliers are paid accurately and promptly, and to maintain excellent supplier and internal relationships.

Main duties include-

  • Input supplier invoices and practice data submissions in an accurate and timely manner to ensure correct payments
  • To reconcile supplier statements to ensure system and payment accuracy
  • Answer practice and supplier queries accurately and in a timely manner, resolving any issues, escalating issues where required
  • Ensure correct authorisation is received for all invoices
  • Activate and generate all payment runs in accordance with a monthly time schedule
  • Rectify any payment errors
  • To ensure correct payment authorisation is received in a timely manner
  • To ensure accurate remittances are sent to suppliers in a timely manner
  • To manage the monthly submissions of data, ensuring data is checked and input in a timely manner to correspond with month end accounting timetables and associates pay schedules
  • To maintain accurate financial records, ensure all paper-based and archived records are maintained for audit purposes
  • To ensure full compliance with all internal, external and legislative requirements
  • To ensure a professional, courteous and proactive internal and external customer service is provided at all times

The profile:

  • Experience within a high-volume accounts payable/purchase ledger function
  • Computer literate, in particular Excel
  • Demonstrable experience of inputting bulk data accurately and efficiently
  • Experience of handling high volumes ie processing a large amount of invoices
  • Studying is advantageous but not essential
  • Ambitious, friendly, hard-working, efficient, great attention to detail
