Description

ROLE: Business Analyst/Technical Product Owner

Robert Half are working with an investment provider to recruit for an experienced Business Analyst/Technical Product Owner. Working as part of a Scrum team delivering Digital Solutions and Core Platform functionality.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Works as part of a team delivering Digital Solutions and Core Platform functionality
  • Assesses value, develops cases, and prioritises stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with strategy and maintains a healthy backlog of sprint ready user stories.
  • Supports the Solutions Product Owner in the refinement of user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Performs the role of Technical Product Owner for the Scrum Team, ensuring alignment to technology strategy and goals, communicating stakeholder vision/direction and taking the lead in technology-led initiatives
  • Develops documentation in support of delivery efforts, operational readiness and handover to BAU
  • Structures releases to ensure there is early, incremental and regular realisation of value to the business
  • Ensures the team produce high quality estimates and holds the team to account to deliver
  • Participates in Scrum Team rituals (daily stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives)
  • Assists the Scrum Master in resolving or mitigating impediments
  • Ensures the developed product is fit for purpose, meets defined quality and security standards and can be supported operationally
  • Supports the evolution of business analysis/product ownership standards
  • Supports the Sales Process, for example through contributing to RFPs and working with Clients, Business Development and Solutions Product Owners to help define and shape future solutions
  • Can work independently and on company-wide initiatives outside of the Scrum process
  • Keeps abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends

Essential:

  • A level (Grade C) or above
  • Proficiency in using MS Products, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Good understanding of Agile processes
  • Able to demonstrate capability as a Business Analyst and Technical Product Owner within an Agile environment
  • Ability to manage workload in an efficient and timely manner, yet confident to respond to changing business needs
  • Proven experience of managing stakeholder relationships at all levels of the organisation
  • Excellent attention to detail and proven problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Willingness to learn, share and develop knowledge and skills and to support the development of others
  • Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working with and managing clients
  • Proactive, resourceful and able to work under own initiative within a team, or independently
  • Exhibits a passion for continuous improvement and service excellence

Desirable:

  • Degree or equivalent
  • A recognised qualification in Business Analysis
  • Formal Agile/Scrum accreditation
  • Proven ability to document effective user stories
  • Experienced gained in the Finance Sector, ideally as a Business Analyst
  • Experience working with, and an appreciation of digital products and front-end web tools
  • Competent user of requirements management and collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence

Salary: £35k - £45k
