Description :

Robert Half are currently looking for Financial Accountant for a client based in Bristol on an interim basis.

Reporting to the Finance Manager of the group, the successful candidate will maintain and strengthen financial control, review existing financial accounting processes and establish new ones, and prepare the monthly accounts in accordance with IFRS.

Duration: 3 months

Rate: £200-£250p/day

The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Proactively providing ideas for improvement to processes and systems across the group
  • Providing support to other members of the Finance Team as required
  • Working closely with, and deputising for, the Senior Financial Accountant
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts for all Atlantis entities, taking responsibility for preparation of all supporting schedules and reconciliations
  • Assisting with the financial reporting for all Atlantis entities, including the preparation of annual statutory accounts both in the UK and overseas
  • Reviewing and improving existing financial processes and procedures
  • Working with external auditors to ensure the timely completion of interim and final audits
  • Remaining current and applying accounting standard changes to Atlantis accounts
  • Ensuring that inter-company reconciliations and confirmations are performed monthly
  • Preparing VAT returns, both in the UK and overseas
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual corporate tax returns both in the UK and overseas, working closely with the company's external tax advisors
  • Reviewing the work of the Assistant Accountant e.g. bank reconciliations

The main requirements for this role are:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An aptitude for problem solving when working with financial systems
  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA Qualified
  • 1 - 2 years' experience
  • Knowledge of financial systems (Sage and Oracle)
  • The ability to identify process inefficiencies and improvements
  • Strong Excel skills
