Global Finance Process Lead - Bristol

Robert Half are working with a listed multinational manufacturing group with headquarters situated in Bristol.

The Global Process Lead will support the Global Process Owner with the design, development, delivery and monitoring of the global process in Record to Report (RTR). They will support and drive the alignment of the process, across the group to align to end-to-end design. They will have particular emphasis on the integration of the e2e process, the metrics to measure the process delivery, the organisation design needed to deliver the process, including the required capabilities needed across the group and any 3rd Party Providers, the business alignment and readiness in advance of deployment and the change management needed to ensure adoption and anchoring.

Role

  • Support the GPO to design, implement and monitor the global processes and their system enablement to ensure efficiency and effectiveness / quality of processes to meet business requirements, compliance with statutory government regulations, legal contracts, and accounting requirements to minimise liability and risk
  • Design and improve the process and its delivery, including the design of delivery related metrics, detailed job design and work instructions
  • Develop current and future state Value Stream Maps for e2e process
  • Support the implementation of the E2E process through, analysis of change impact, building business readiness, tracking readiness though implementation and working with the appropriate delivery organisation to ensure implementations are anchored
  • Support and drive the alignment of Group, Division, Region, Cluster, Factory, Country and 3rd Party Providers to align to e2e process
  • Gather data on current operations (e.g. operational metrics, pain points, systems landscape)
  • Ensure standardisation and consistency of performance of the global process and systems to leading practice
  • Design and monitor performance KPIs across the global process
  • Ensure the global process works effectively with linked processes
  • Support the ongoing governance of the global process community
  • Support the deployment of Finance Shared Service in line with agreed deployment methodologies
  • Works with key stakeholders to ensure appropriate levels of engagement during the design of the processes, policies, KPI's, data standards, operating model and role definitions and their on-going development data
  • Maintain functional alignment with those functions impacted by the process
  • Work with service delivery teams and BPO providers to oversee business process design and on-going development so that it supports the operating model and enables the delivery to customers to agreed quality, cost savings, and other business benefits
  • Create an environment of continuous improvement with service delivery teams and customers in coordination and collaboration with the global Service Management teams
  • Provide guidance and deep-dive expertise to sub-process owners where needed
  • Support discontinuous innovation and continuous improvement programmes / initiatives within the process area
  • Maintain process integrity and keep business process model and associated documentation up-to-date and in line with global template
  • Provide advice when deviations from the standard global process are required
  • Ensure consistent implementation of global approaches to risk management, impact assessment and risk mitigation plans
  • Assumes the day to day responsibilities of the GPO in their absence

Profile

  • Excellent relationship building experience, influencing skills, and experience of working with senior level managers/executives across a large, complex, matrix organisation and demonstrable experience of operating across multiple geographies and cultures
  • Experience in the ownership, leadership, design and delivery of business processes and deep-dive expertise on global process sub-components
  • Deep understanding of how to plan, implement and sustain business process change
  • Demonstrable experience and understanding of a broad range of business functions and processes and their operational challenges
  • Business experience would be beneficial and ideally, will have held a Global Process / Finance management position in a similar organisation operating in similar geographies
  • Demonstrable experience in transformation projects in business operations
  • Accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, CPA, CMA, CHAE) or MBA desired
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP and IFRS guidelines
  • Demonstrated usage of Process Maps Tools, e.g. Visio, Signavio, Blueworks Live
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
