Robert Half are working in partnership on an exclusive basis with The Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester, Gloucestershire to recruit a Finance & Reporting Manager to join their finance department.
The Royal Agricultural University (RAU) is going through a period of exciting and dynamic change. At the forefront of agricultural education since it's foundation as the Royal Agricultural College in 1845, the University now has some 1,200 undergraduate students from over 45 different countries studying at the historic campus, set in 25 acres of magnificent grounds in the heart of the Cotswolds. A full University since 2013, the RAU is an acknowledged leader in education and applied research relevant to the land-based industries.
The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor, Professor Joanne Price, is leading a process of strategic re-positioning for the RAU.
The Finance & Reporting Manager role is a critical and highly commercial position within the finance department. This role will provide the successful individual with maximum Senior Management team exposure on both a weekly and monthly basis. This position partners with the senior teams and therefore it is essential that this individual is able to build strong relationships and quickly generate rapport with respective team members.
The role is responsible for leading the strategic and operational management and performance of the RAU's finance function. This will involve overseeing the key financial management activities including monthly reporting, statutory reporting and the transactional accounting.
You will also need to ensure that the RAU is tax efficient in its operations and meets all statutory taxation obligations.
You will be overseeing an established team to lead on these core activities, together with reasonable existing business processes, however there is the need to implement new processes and procedures and ensure robust financial control.
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
- Ability to demonstrate good commercial awareness
- Ability to communicate with non-finance managers
- Experience at Senior Management level, leading a large, multi-disciplinary team in a service-led environment
- Experience of producing statutory accounts, management accounts and budgets for a company and related subsidiaries
- Evidence of delivering effective, responsive and flexible customer focused services.
