Robert Half are working in partnership on an exclusive basis with The Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester, Gloucestershire to recruit a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join their finance department.
The Royal Agricultural University (RAU) is going through a period of exciting and dynamic change. At the forefront of agricultural education since it's foundation as the Royal Agricultural College in 1845, the University now has some 1,200 undergraduate students from over 45 different countries studying at the historic campus, set in 25 acres of magnificent grounds in the heart of the Cotswolds. A full University since 2013, the RAU is an acknowledged leader in education and applied research relevant to the land-based industries.
The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor, Professor Joanne Price, is leading a process of strategic re-positioning for the RAU.
The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager role is a critical and highly strategic position within the finance department. This position partners with the senior teams working closely with the Finance & Reporting Manager, and therefore it is essential that this individual is able to build strong relationships and quickly generate rapport with respective team members.
The role is responsible for RAU's medium to long term financial planning, treasury and data management. You will assist the Finance Director to formulate the financial strategy to support the delivery of Corporate Plan objectives.
Another key part of the role will be managing the Treasury function, ensuring compliance with funding agreements and proactively manage debt and cash according to the agreed Treasury Strategy and Treasury Management Policy, liaising with funders as required.
You will also undertake the role of Data Protection Officer overseeing RAU's data management framework and compliance with GDPR.
You will be overseeing an established team including Data & Procurement however there is an urgent requirement to implement new processes and procedures, including process automation and ensure robust financial control.
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
- Experience of the preparations of long term financial plans
- Experience of Treasury Management
- Experience in the preparation of Statutory and Management Accounts
- Knowledge of Activity Based costings
- Strong presentation skills and report writing skills
- Strong IT skills including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and high level Excel skills.
