Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Finance Assistant to join a London based boutique jewellery designer. This role requires you to support all functions associated with the accounts payable and accounts receivable process with key a focus on ensuring the accurate and timely posting of invoices and timely payment of suppliers. You will assist with all other reporting procedures as and when necessary.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 12-18 months experience within Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, you will have a proven skills in attention to detail and good time management. You must have dealt with high volume invoicing (circa 1,000 invoices monthly). The role will involve dealing with vendor queries and liaising with internal stakeholders therefore exemplary communication skills are essential. You will also have capabilities to improve processes.

This role includes the following -

Sales ledger

  • Gain a full understanding of the sales channels operated by the Company
  • Reconcile cash receipts to sales reports
  • Raise sales invoices in a timely manner
  • Maintain the customer contract register
  • Credit control

Purchase ledger

  • Develop in depth knowledge of the goods and services purchased by the Company
  • Ensure supplier invoices have been approved in line with the expenditure policy
  • Flag transactions to be categorised as capital expenditure, or to be prepaid
  • Set up bi-monthly payment runs to ensure suppliers are paid within their payment terms
  • Maintain various registers, including the manual refund register and supplier contract register
  • Process staff expense claims
  • Prepare credit card reports and reconciliations

General

  • Assist with quarterly VAT return preparation
  • Accurate recording of bank and cash transactions outside of purchase and sales ledger
  • Set up bank payments outside of purchase ledger (e.g. payroll)
  • Weekly updates to KPI reporting / dashboards

Salary £22,000 - £24,000 + study support
