Are you an Operations Analyst seeking a new challenge? Are you interested in working for a leading Investment Bank based in the City?

Robert Half Financial Services are looking to find an experienced Operations Analyst to join and support the Middle Office team within a leading Investment Bank. This a great opportunity for someone who has 1 year + experience within Middle Office Fixed Income Operations and would like a new challenge in the heart of the City.


  • Maintain strong fixed income knowledge and be fully cross trained to help with other fixed income roles in the team and cover for any absences
  • Provide management with analysis of key process drivers, root causes to issues, and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Answer all queries in a timely manner to ensure proper confirmation and settlement of trades.
  • Liaise with different areas of the bank (e.g. accounting, P&L) to ensure that all issues are appropriately addressed in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal partners (e.g. front office and other operations teams) for the purposes of delivering optimal customer service.
  • A clear understanding of market practices and developing effective relations with our counterparties in the local market must be worked on at all times
  • Ensure that Regulatory and Audit guidelines are adhered to
  • Follow proper escalation policy at all times
  • Perform sundry duties as required by management including project work related to the fixed income operations team
  • To assist in full holistic review of team, focusing on;
  • Assessing and mitigating potential risks
  • Reviewing current controls, creating new controls as required
  • Ensure current procedure documentation is up to date
  • Ensure procedures are consistently being followed
  • Review current escalation policies and ensure they are being adhered to
  • Assist in creating daily team plans/schedules
  • Assist in planning/scheduling cross training
  • Help to release payments and verify trades as required
  • Provide approvals as requested for various tasks on the team


  • Experience in an Operations role and with Fixed Income
  • Possess at least 1 years Operations experience
  • Advanced knowledge of the fixed income full trade lifecycle across various markets, in particular for Euroclear, Clearstream and DTC
  • Strong understanding of fixed income and the full trade life cycle
  • Possess good relationship management skills and experienced in working with clients and front office
  • Ability to execute on ad-hoc requests
  • Ability to adapt to changing policies and procedures
  • IAQ/IOC qualification is an asset but not essential
  • Knowledge of the various systems used by the business (e.g. Bloomberg, Calypso etc.) or similar platforms would be an asset
  • Results driven, client focused approach on day-to-day work
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Organized and detailed
  • Possess excellent time management and be comfortable with managing multiple deliverables at a time
  • Candidate must be able to work independently with little guidance as well as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including WORD, POWERPOINT and EXCEL
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
