Regulatory Compliance Director - London

Payments & FX Firm - £80,000 base


Specific responsibilities will include:

* Ensuring business units have effective decision-making to comply with requirements of European, UK and US regulations and laws pertaining primarily to:
o Payment Services;
o Anti-Bribery and Anti-corruption;
o Data Protection;
o Criminal Finances Act;
o Code of Business Conduct and Ethics;
o Interchange Fee Regulation - Separation of Scheme and Processing; and
o Any other requirements or regulations with regulatory authority over our operations.

* Act in advisory capacity for Compliance matters as the "one stop shop" for business units, Regional Compliance Officers, Country Managers and local regulators to foster strong business partnerships and provide leadership on regulatory compliance matters;

* Delivering Country Office Visits as necessary and local training on policy requirements and remediation of any compliance issues;

* Reviewing and providing input into relevant regulatory risk assessments, in collaboration with the firms European Legal team, to ensure the necessary actions arising from it are completed and aligned with the relevant risk management reporting requirements.

* Assisting the business in building out their First Line of Defence (FLOD) to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, that risks are being adequately managed and that the business is in compliance with company policy

* Designing and implementing second line of defence (SLOD) in consultation with global compliance team and first line of defence stakeholders

* Contributing to design, implementation and on-going reviews (as necessary)


* Educated to degree level or equivalent;
Technical/Professional Qualifications
* Relevant professional accreditation a significant advantage;

Your Experience
* Experience in regulatory compliance and related risk management disciplines ideally gained within financial services industry;

* A good understanding of core pillars of effective regulatory compliance programmes and relevant regulation and legislation;

* Experience in cross-border payments a significant advantage;

* Proven understanding of investigation and evidence management practices;

* Proven understanding of risk management, compliance and corporate governance issues;
