Robert Half Finance and Accounting are currently looking to recruit a Financial Controller to join an International Manufacturing company currently going through an exciting period of change based in Gloucester. For the right person the client is offering a very competitive:

£50,000 - £60,000 plus excellent benefits

Role responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Responsibility for all preparation of month end pack including P&L, BS, KPIs and reporting on variances to budget and forecast to Finance Director
  • Ensuring that the general accounting operations are compliant with accounting standards
  • Recording company assets and liabilities including debtors and creditors ledgers and achieving budgeted/forecasted debtors and creditors days
  • Monitoring the performance of each business unit in line with their set budgets and KPIs
  • Providing Weekly cash forecast and commenting on variances, providing full visibility of cash requirements to FD
  • Sales commission and incentive calculation and reconciliations
  • Implement and maintain all financial controls and systems within the business, identifying and recommending potential operational efficiencies and improvements to working financial practices and procedures
  • Keeping the Finance Director fully briefed and up to date on financial issues
  • Recruit, manage, train and motivate direct reports, according to company procedures, policy and employment law
  • Liaising with auditors for yearly and half yearly audits
  • Monitoring and reviewing all discretionary spend through relevant process
  • Managing credit control and the credit hold process minimising risk whilst minimising the unnecessary disruption of supply to customers
  • Ensure company is compliant to all VAT legislation and correctly and timely submitting to HMRC for vat, Intrastat and EC sales
  • Group tax computations
  • Ad hoc requests for information and analyses and assisting with meeting reporting requirements
  • Manage online banking software and Company credit cards
  • Budget Preparation for the business, forecasting and strategy modelling

Person specification:

  • Qualified (ACA/CA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Currently operating as a line manager within a Finance function
  • Great communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to make calculated business decisions based off what the numbers are telling you
  • Ideally come from a Manufacturing/Retail/FMCG background (preferred but not essential)
