The Role

Robert Half are working with Warren, the UK's leading independent carton, graphical board and paper stockists, to recruit an Accounts Assistant in Leicester on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract on a full time basis. This is an opportunity to join Warren, whose name has become synonymous with comprehensive stock ranges and a service level second to none, leading to turnover rising by 57% over the last 4 years. The core responsibility of the role will be to assist in the efficient running of the Credit Control section, reporting in to the Credit Manager.

Key responsibilities

  • Chase monies owed to the Company by telephone and/or email as instructed in a timely manner - Reporting to the Credit Manager as problems arise and keeping diary notes up to date

  • Check the accurate completion of New Account Forms ensuring signed acceptance of Terms and Conditions are received prior to an account being authorised for trading

  • Establish credit limits via credit insurers and credit reference agencies and re-establishing credit limits once expired

  • Keep all manual and computer records up to date including filing

  • Answering the telephones

  • Post (including preparing invoices for posting)

  • Cash posting to the Sales Ledger

  • Banking (using the company pool car)

  • Checking acknowledgement for orders placed with mills on the previous day

  • Filing mill orders

Your profile

The ideal candidate will have some credit control experience. You will need to be a team player, working in an open plan office with other departments, with confidence to pick up the phone and put in the work without getting easily distracted.

You must have the following

  • Positive 'can do' attitude.

  • Full UK eligible driving licence

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Strong ethics and integrity.

  • Adherence to deadlines is essential.

  • Diligent approach to all tasks.

Operating from 112,000 square feet premises in Glenfield, Leicestershire and 42,000 square feet in West Bromwich they are ideally situated for all the major road networks in the UK. In order to assist customers in managing a 'just in time' supply they are able to hold stock in storage - short and long term, as well as offering re-packing, pallet inversion and bulk-breakage.
