Description

Assist Department Supervisor with all aspects of processing for settlement & transfers covering CREST, residual, overseas & funds' assets


Robert Half Financial services are currently recruiting for an Settlements analsyt for a leading Wealth manager. This person would have experience in Equity, Bonds and unit trusts. Settlements, transferring stock and Cash funds. Crest Stock deposits



Main tasks:



Administration

  • Assist Supervisor /Line Manager with updates to departmental procedure manuals
  • Ensure Departmental Daily Check Lists are updated and completed
  • Keep up to date with all changes within the industry
  • Maintain product knowledge through cross training within the department
  • Provide cross-training to other staff members within the team
  • Complete target and goal setting that has been set through appraisal process.



Day-to-Day tasks include

  • Input and and/or authorisation of every type of transfer instructions into Beta Global system
  • Transitions - arranging trade and settlement dates with market counterparties
  • Transferring/dematerialising stock into/from nominees
  • Preparation of transfer forms into / out of nominees
  • Re-registration of physical stock
  • Updating custody system when transfers of stock have settled
  • Capital Gains Tax (CGIX) administration
  • Crest checking, download of daily report and liaison with dealers/counterparties to resolve issues
  • Processing of Crest stock deposits
  • Processing of equity and bond settlements in both UK and wide range of foreign markets..
  • Investigation of unsettled transactions in all markets
  • Production of Daily Unsettled Trades Report
  • Processing of funds settlement
  • Liaison with Global Custodian and Funds Custodians with regard to failed/unmatched trades
  • Dematerialisation of both UK and Foreign physical certificates
  • Cash Memorandum Account daily reconciliation

Special Projects/Other Duties

  • Staff may be required from time to time to assist with a variety of projects within Investment Administration Dept.

  • In addition to the above functions, employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably requested

  • Maintain own professional competence through training and course work

Qualifications, skills, experience and competencies needed:

Essential

  • Likely to have at least 2 years' securities experience

Advantageous

  • Knowledge of either settlements or transfer processing for Crest, overseas or funds' assets desirable
  • Preferably holder of IOC (formerly known as IAQ)

Academic/Other Skills Required

  • Preferably Graduate
  • Educated to minimum of A-level standard, with minimum of Grade C at GCSE English and Maths
  • Willing to work toward the CISI Investment Operations Certificate (IOC)
  • Well organised
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to maintain required standards when working under pressure
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good IT skills, especially MS Excel
