PARAPLANNER - Greater Manchester

Role

As a Paraplanner your role is to ensure the quality and standard of financial services reports produced is of a professional standard and the highest quality. This is a technical function that supports and informs the work of Financial Advisors and Financial Planners in all areas of finance, including pensions, mortgages, general insurance, tax and investment management.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Financial Advisor/Planner in establishing new client relationships and servicing existing Clients
  • Assessing each client's financial circumstances
  • Carrying out research and analysing products and services that are appropriate to each client's financial circumstances
  • Proposing and drafting reports / letters outlining financial solutions that meet each client's goals, needs and objectives
  • Developing productive working relationships with colleagues and clients throughout the financial services environment, both within and outside of the employing organisation
  • Process and deliver suitability reports to the highest quality
  • Wide general knowledge of financial products and services, Keep up to date with all relevant product, legislative or technical changes
  • Answering telephone queries from clients and providers
  • Updating client records utilising internal systems, primarily Intelligent Office and Enable
  • Liaising with product providers and other relevant third parties
  • Assisting the Consultants to ensure that all business is efficiently and professionally followed up
  • Ability to complete detailed and accurate work to a high standard
  • Ascertain that procedures followed by the company are compliant and follow the guidelines set out by the FCA
  • Training and support of more junior members of the report writing and administration team

  • Report writing and clear written communication skills, pension protection, investments
  • Professional, ethical and discreet
  • Effective time and caseload management
  • Confidence using IT, database packages and IFA back office systems
  • Experience of transfer of assets
  • Understanding of risk profilers
  • Use of cashflow modellers
  • Experience of business processing
  • Use of analysis tools such as FinEx/Distribution Technology or similar is desirable
  • Use of research tools such as The Exchange/ Synaptics/Selectapension or similar Financial Services is desirable
  • Use of client management systems such as Intelligent Office (iO), Enable or similar is desirable

Salary £30-40k

Hours Monday to Friday 9-5pm
