Description

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, be extremely proactive and have a genuine knack to problem solving

The ideal candidate would have:

Experience in:

  • Reconciliations
  • Accounts payable
  • Accounts receivable
  • Excel
  • Administrating reports.
  • Project management

You will be dealing with

  • Contract negation
  • Reporting to finance
  • Processing applications for departments
  • Liaising internally with projects

Duties

  • Internal and external administrative tasks
  • Prepare research grants
  • Liaise with Research Services to ensure original application costing matches
  • Ensure research grants are set up on system accurately
  • In collaboration with Research Services and Research Accounts, assist with the setting up of all research-related contracts
  • To work effectively under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • To work independently using own initiative, with a proactive problem-solving attitude
  • Monitor ongoing spend, commitments and budget remaining and add commentary for internal reporting;

  • A high level of personal discretion, tact, and judgement, especially when dealing with sensitive and/or confidential material
  • To work effectively under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • To work independently using own initiative, with a proactive problem-solving attitude
  • Monitor ongoing spend, commitments and budget remaining and add commentary for internal reporting;

Desirable

  • Administrative experience in Higher Education and / or in Research Administration;
  • Previous knowledge of research grants and contracts;
  • Previous experience of Oracle Financial software and X5 for costing research grants.
