Description

Robert Half are exclusively partnering a rapidly expanding, yet well established retail/imports business based near Salford to recruit for a strong Finance Manager to work very closely with the Finance Director to lead their growing finance team.

Previous experience in dealing with stock would be hugely advantageous. As would any experience in working within distribution or imports.

The Business

The business are a hugely ambitious circa £50m turnover retail/imports company who have hugely exciting growth plans over the next 12-24 months. They are based near Salford over towards the Swinton area within a tidy office complex. They have become an industry leader within their respective sector and the personal growth and development opportunities are exceptional.

The Role

This is a very hands-on role where there will be a clear path of progression up to Finance Director level over the next few years. Key responsibilities include:

  • Complete the monthly management accounts to established timetable, including P&L, balance sheet, key reconciliations and detailed business commentary
  • Input and contribute to the annual budget for the business, working closely with operational and commercial colleagues
  • Product & Stock Forecasting - forecast and monitor product sales & stock
  • Monthly stock reconciliation
  • Produce short term trading forecasts for the business on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
  • Working very closely with the Finance Director on commercially focused Business Partnering to key business units and senior stakeholders across the business
  • Identify and develop improvements to existing business processes including those within finance
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC guidelines - VAT, Imports & Exports, Corporation Tax, Payroll, National Statistics and other reporting requirements
  • Responsible for a small team of circa 3 accounting staff
  • Full involvement in preparation of statutory accounts
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors as required
  • Acting as a point-of-contact for the finance function

Profile

  • Stock/Imports/Distribution experience will be hugely advantageous
  • Experience with Foreign Currency advantageous
  • SME Background
  • Dynamic personality, looking for progression
  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA Qualified or QBE
