Robert Half are currently working in partnership with a business based in St Neots that are recruiting for a Finance Business Partner (Projects). The Finance Business Partner is required to be a true business partner, interacting with non-finance staff as well providing commercial input to assist group decision-making.
Role purpose for Business Partner Finance:
Proactively and under direction, prepares, develops and analyses key financial information to enable well-informed decisions on future stability, growth and profitability.
Provide high quality business partnering, liaising with colleagues on all aspects of finance.
The role combines finance skills with interpretation, communication and organisation skills.
To analyse the performance of the business, suggest and analyse solutions to problems, adapt to changing circumstances and identify where efficiencies can be made.
Reporting directly into the Commercial Finance Manager, responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Preparing business plans and base cases for initiatives and projects, working in a team or on a one-to-one basis from preparing, challenging and interrogate plans through to post-implementation reviews.
Report on causes of variances and resolve issues directly with relevant departments.
Manage the annual budget process at a day to day level. Contribute to and drive the budgeting process throughout the Company, liaising with and working alongside finance and non-finance team members.
Business partner to various areas of the business - working closely with all levels of the Company, interpreting data into usable information, proactively highlighting trends and potential problems Review working capital performance against targets at divisional level and below
Analyse financial performance and contribute to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts
Providing a support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions
Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers
Any other duties deemed necessary
The ideal candidate profile:
ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
Strong communication, IT and interpersonal skills are essential
Must be proactive and able to handle multiple competing priorities
Be able to translate and communicate finance information to non-finance staff
Prepared to take responsibility for decisions made on recommendations
Have excellent analytical and interpretive skills
The job has responsibility for Finance support to the business with a turnover around £450m which will typically consist of a number of acquired companies operationally structured on the basis of geography, business streams or a combination of the two.
Salary & Benefits
The client are able to offer a salary of £45,000 plus benefits.
