My client are recruiting for a General Ledger Accountant on a permanent basis, my client are based in the services sector in Stockport.
This role involves:-
■ Preparing and coding facility Invoices and upload Journals to the system.
■ Maintaining facility cost management system in accordance with policy and guidelines.
■ Maintaining recurring journals for prepayments and accruals and review any variances.
■ Maintaining and reconciling fixed asset registers with in the system.
■ Maintaining the general ledger account analysis and journal corrections and preparing uploading journals.
■ Assisting the Accountant in completion of month end file creation and posting journals.
■ Completion of balance sheet schedules.
■ Ensuring the efficient processing of cashbook transactions via the accounting system.
■ Reconciling cashbooks to bank statements daily.
■ Reconciling multiple foreign currencies transactions.
■ Completing monthly bank reconciliations.
■ Assisting in the preparation of year-end accounting files and tax packs.
■ Assisting with Intercompany and account reconciliations.
■ Reclass Gain/Loss transactions when necessary
■ Reviewing Benefit costs, labour reconciliations and other payroll related adjustments including paid time off (PTO)
■ Assisting with year end audit preparation and review of audited financial
■ Assisting with questions from upper Management.
■ Assisting with audit questions during quarterly reviews by US auditors and annual audits by in-country auditors.
■ Reviewing and revising standard procedures where appropriate to ensure efficiency and compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX).
■ Providing backup assistance to Accounting staff when necessary.
■ Participation in the staff development programme within the framework of IIP and within the agreed individual staff development plan.

■ Communicating with internal and external agencies, staff, customers, management and peers in a manner appropriate to your position at all times.

■ Acting in accordance with your confidentiality agreement with the company at all times.
■ Good standard of secondary education.
■ 3 years relevant sector experience.
■ NVQ Level 3 in Accounting or equivalent.
■ Financial skills.
■ Administration skills.
■ Computer literate - accountancy packages.
■ Communication skills.
■ Well presented.
■ 5 GCSE passes or above including: Mathematics.
■ Recognised accounting technician qualification.
■ Staff management skills.
Salary & Benefits
The successful candidate will receive a salary of up to £35k, plus great benefits.
