Robert Half Accountancy and Finance are recruiting exclusively for a Treasury Assistant Accountant - VAT and Cashflow Assistant who will be internally known as a "Treasury Manager" to join Danone - a major FMCG company in the UK and Ireland, with market leading brands across four divisions, best known for brands such as Evian, Volvic, Activia, Cow & Gate plus many others. A position has become available in their Trowbridge office and will be best suited for a progressive and committed individual who will sit within their UK and Ireland Treasury team, reporting into the Head of Treasury.

Danone is a multinational FMCG company whose UK Head Office is based in London and is currently recruiting for their South West office, based in Trowbridge. Role

An opportunity has arisen for a candidate to join Danone in Trowbridge, a well-respected business and join a large and growing finance team of 50 members of staff to take ownership of the VAT submissions and compliance for the UK and Irish companies. This role will sit within the Treasury Division, yet you will work closely with many finance members of staff such as the transactional department and will gain great exposure and potential future progression opportunities into the wider finance function. As well as the focus on VAT submissions and compliance, this role will involve Cash and Banking based tasks. Danone are seeking a candidate to specialise within this area and make this opportunity their own.

Role responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Support the businesses with customs declarations relating to VAT
  • Maintain the monthly custom declaration reporting from a VAT perspective
  • Support the Treasury Manager by maintaining the cash forecast and balance sheet files
  • Be the main point of contact for all aspects of VAT reporting for the Ireland businesses liaising with internal and external stakeholders whilst maintaining compliance
  • Support the wider Treasury and finance team with month end responsibilities, with the company reporting for all Treasury related schedules
  • Execute the monthly payments and Receivables transactions
  • Execute the hedging transactions in accordance with the policy
  • Support the wider team with the company reporting for all Treasury related schedules
  • Execute the monthly Intercompany payments and Receivables transactions

Person specification:

  • Knowledge of VAT and the VAT submission process is essential
  • Experience of assisting input VAT invoices, assisting with preparing VAT and UK VAT submissions onto HMRC
  • Understanding of how treasury and cash flow processes, cash flow forecasting works
  • Be able to demonstrate enthusiasm
  • Be able to communicate at different levels, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, problem solver, committed
  • Light-hearted and friendly
  • Strong excel ability, SAP is desirable but not essential.
